Baby Chloe - 9 days old

Well I haven't been a very good blogger lately. But with the Christmas rush, several albums to design, 2 new websites and blogs launching soon, I have my hands pretty full! I will be posting the rest of the Maldives wedding on my new blog which will have larger images and just overall be the bees knees ( I hope!). Baby Mia - 7 days old today!

I must admit, it's not been a good week. Been pretty down in the dumps due to family health issues, the freezing cold weather, and lack of sleep.... 

But today, my day was brightened up by this little baby girl. Newborns are definitely my favorite subject - I'm fascinated by their tiny features, the faces they pull and the little bags under their eyes. They really make me feel positive - they are so innocent and unaffected.

Completely and utterly unaware of this crazy world around them and the thousand little (and big) things we all worry about. I always notice that their predominant expression seems to be a frown - I wonder what they are thinking? Enough reflecting for now, here are some piccies!

New beginnings

Yesterday I photographed my youngest every baby - 1 day and 1 hour old to be precise! He is my new nephew and he is beautiful. I could just eat him up. I REALLY love photographing newborns and everything about them. The little bags under their eyes, the fine hairs, the scrunched up faces , and the way they bend every which way possible ( not that daddy - yes that's you Adam! was to keen on the bending part even though I keep telling him I do this for a living! - that's photographing and not bending of course). So Adam & Barbara - congratulations on the new addition, he is lovely and hope has a name soon...keep me posted!

So, as I am changing some stuff on my website ( in fact a new one is in the pipeline) I will be looking for some new images involving newborns. I have some ideas , but basically will need some willing models with fairly relaxed parents who are happy to work towards one particular image. I am shortly going to be putting out a casting call for newborns 7 days and under, due sometime between mid Jan and mid February. Watch this space...

But I digress....here are some shots for you to feast your eyes on!

Sleepy newborns and sleepy daddies...

Today's newborn session was rather interesting. Now, you all know that I am really easy going and don't ever put a time limit on my newborn sessions. This is because I allow extra time for feeding, sleeping, changing - you know all the stuff associated with babies. Anyway I was photographing this gorgeous little man today ( he joined our crazy world on saturday), and his daddy went to sleep himself, probably because of the heat in the studio! Or at least that's how I explain it to myself lol ( he was just hot and bored waiting for his turn I think!). Anyway, in case you don't believe me here is the proof! Rich-with your permission....

My youngest ever newborn...just 3 days old!

A couple of weeks ago I shot these pictures of the gorgeous baby Jack, at just 3 days old. With mummy and daddys' permission I thought I would share some of those images here, as I know that I have a few expectant mums due very soon and you have asked to take a peek. So, here they are.....isn't he just scrumptious??? He had perfect skin, lots of hair and the sweetest little face!

This picture is my favourite...sweet dreams baby boy!

I love this montage, this is what I call the "baby blox" and it's a fantastic way of getting 9 pictures on one wall print!

Welcome to the World

This morning I photographed this gorgeous little bean and just wanted to share some of those pictures! Amelia is 7 days old today. I just adore newborns they are so pure - I wish more mummies were brave enough to have their babies photographed in their first week! 4-5 days is ideal.
