George & Izzy sneak preview

Today I had a lovely session with these 2 little rascals. We started off in the studio but then decided George & Izzy will be far more at ease at the local park, so off we went. It was a beautiful day, and I was glad to be able to do what is probably one of my last location sessions for the year, and capture the gorgeous autumn colours.

Rachel, Jasmine & Elle Sneak Preview

My second session today started about 20 minutes after my Maternity session ended so when the girls arrived I was still bouncing of the walls. Again, we had great fun- Jasmine was a gorgeous little girl who posed like a complete pro, Elle a bit shy to start with (no reason to - she's beautiful!) but then really came into her own, and Rachel a lovely lady who obviously loves her girls very much. I normally wouldn't do such a large sneak preview but the pictures are such fun, I had to share! Thanks to all 3 of you - I had a great time shooting you ( well you know what I mean)!

Joanna maternity session Part 1

I had a blast today. Two fantastic , fun sessions with lovely subjects. Joanna was first in this morning for her maternity session, and she brought her little sister along. The most wonderful thing for me is when someone comes is and not only wants to have fun, but also gives me a completely free hand to be creative. Joanna was just like that and to top it off she has some great ideas, and brought along a cool range range of accessories, make up and underwear ( not that she used much of that!). She is absolutely stunning and great in front of the camera which really made the session a lot of fun & I was really hyped up afterwards! Here are a few images that I quickly worked on as a sneak preview, more to come in part 2 ( the more daring ones) next week. Better Together

Today I had a grown up family session, a bit of a change to the little ones. The shoot took place to celebrate a very special birthday, and the family getting together. Thankfully everyone was great, and I managed ok without playing peek-a-boo, and for a whole hour I didn't sing any nursery rhymes! Coral & Leo, it was a pleasure - you make a lovely family. I hope you like the pictures - here are a few of my favorites.

Holiday time!

Right I am now off for a well deserved break in sunny Cyprus. The studio will reopen on the 15th of August and if you need to get in touch with me the best thing to do is email me on maria@mariamurray.co.uk and I will reply on my return. I am not taking my mobile phone or laptop so will not be reachable at all during that time. Please note that I am now taking bookings for the 2nd week in September and the weekends are now getting booked up pretty quickly - yes the Christmas rush begins in September! So if you are looking to book a session please email me as soon as possible with the dates required.

I wanted to leave you with a slideshow of a session I shot on Frinton beach last month with Jean and his mummy and daddy. The day started of badly - it was pouring with rain, and we sat under the stairs on the beach for some 25 minutes. But, it finally subsided, and bright sunshine slowly came out. This Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting David ,Natalie, Jessica, Chloe, Annabelle, Ollie & bump!
I had a great time photographing the girls & their little brother & must say that everyone was a joy to work with. David & Natalie, here is a sneak preview for you as promised- I hope you like them!

Poppy fields & my little girl...gorgeous combination

I really wanted to share this with you. I took these yesterday afternoon, and am sooo pleased at how they turned out. Yes this is Izzy again, bless her! As much as she loves having her picture taken i don't think she was really in the mood yesterday. BUT, I knew that the poppies are dying and I know of only one field in the area and just HAD to go there - I missed them completely last year! Wayne finally gave in and we drove there yesterday afternoon after walking the dog so I could take a few shots.
It all must have looked a bit suspicious and we got a few strange looks , I am sure we were trespassing! To cut a long story short I only had one position to photograph Iz from and she is sitting on a blanket balanced on the edge of a field. There was a bit of dip so there wasn't really away to go onto the field. I really wanted some pictures where she was very little in a big field of poppies, but didn't quite get that...but hey I was happy with those! Feel free to comment!

News , little angels & other stuff!

I am now away until the 26th of May. My diary is full until the 24th of June but If you are looking for newborn session (baby 6 days or less) please call me and I will do my best to shuffle things around and try and fit you in.

I will be sporadically picking up emails whilst I am away, but will be slow in replying so please bear with me. I am going on a wedding workshop in Paris and it will be pretty intensive!

Steph & James pre wedding shoot

Last weekend I met the lovely Steph & James, who are getting married later this year.
I have this thing where I really don't like going in and shooting a wedding completely cold. I believe there needs to be some rapport and empathy, and that is why I like to meet first, and preferably to do a "warm up" session as well. Thankfully we had great weather and blue skies on the day & Steph & James were game for a few pictures ( as long as they were not conventional) :) So I quickly put my creative hat on and and tried to do something different!
It's been great meeting you guys, thanks for being relaxed with me, and I really look forward to shooting your wedding in September! Please wait a moment for the slideshow to load, and turn the speakers up!
