British Photography Awards + Kodak Awards 2008

I am now away from the studio until Tuesday as I am attending this years BPPA Awards in Newcastle. It is a chance to catch up with old friends, attend a great black tie do and generally get away for a few days! 

I am also up for a couple of Awards, so who knows...As I have already won the London Region Mario Acerboni Wedding Photographer for 2008, am shortlisted for the Bride's Choice wedding Award ( You and your Wedding magazine), got 2 Merits in Portaits  plus am a finalist in the Kodak Portrait Awards I can't really complain! I am chuffed even if i don't go any further. And one of my customers has something to celebrate too - as a result of me being a Kodak finalist she wins a fab Kodak digital camera.

Oriana

This is Oriana - she is a gorgeous little girl with big blue eyes, and it was a pleasure too photograph her earlier today.

New beginnings

Yesterday I photographed my youngest every baby - 1 day and 1 hour old to be precise! He is my new nephew and he is beautiful. I could just eat him up. I REALLY love photographing newborns and everything about them. The little bags under their eyes, the fine hairs, the scrunched up faces , and the way they bend every which way possible ( not that daddy - yes that's you Adam! was to keen on the bending part even though I keep telling him I do this for a living! - that's photographing and not bending of course). So Adam & Barbara - congratulations on the new addition, he is lovely and hope has a name soon...keep me posted!

So, as I am changing some stuff on my website ( in fact a new one is in the pipeline) I will be looking for some new images involving newborns. I have some ideas , but basically will need some willing models with fairly relaxed parents who are happy to work towards one particular image. I am shortly going to be putting out a casting call for newborns 7 days and under, due sometime between mid Jan and mid February. Watch this space...
